Foster with Kibble | Generous Foster Pay, Training & Allowances

Kibble’s fostering service provides safe, loving homes for children and young people who are unable to live with their families. Together with foster carers, we provide the stability and care that young people need to help them get the best in life. We believe in childhood, we believe in love, and we are there every step of the way.

Our Fostering Team

Our fostering service supports children from the age of five years, through to age 26. Depending on age, a young person will be supported by our Intensive Fostering Services (IFS), and when they reach the age of 21 they may move into our Adult Placement Services (APS).

Many of the young people have had a difficult start in life, and as a result of their early childhood experiences and need a helping hand to support them through this. Our fostering service is strengthened by Kibble’s range of support for young people including:

  • 24/7 Support
We offer round the clock support to young people and foster carers, so help is always at hand when you need it.
  • Dedicated Key Worker
Every young person is allocated a key worker who provides support to both the young person and the foster carer. Young people spend time regularly with their key worker, which will include some evening and weekends to give you a break.
  • Carer Team Meetings
Weekly meetings give foster carers the opportunity to discuss the needs of the young people with the care team. It’s also a space to share approaches that have been successful, and give and receive support from other foster carers.
  • Training and Qualifications
We are passionate about professional and personal development of our foster carers and want to ensure that you are fully skilled and confident to carry out the role therefore we provide high quality training and development to all our foster carers to meet the needs of the carer and the young person. All full-time foster carers must complete the following mandatory courses:

    – HNC Social Services
    – SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People)

These qualifications are certified by the Scottish Qualifications Authority and delivered by Kibble trainers and external assessors within the organisation.

To ensure our staff receive all learning required for their role, our learning pathway offers a diverse range of opportunities ranging from: compliance training, workforce registration qualifications, specialist, and learning opportunities.
