Learning and Development Officer Jillian supports her colleagues and arranges training opportunities, enabling them to perform their duties and provide the best care, support and understanding of young people.

What did you do before Kibble?

I attended college to study an HNC in Care and Administrate Practice. Prior to this I was studying nursing at college, but soon realised it was not the career for me.

Initially, I started at Kibble in the evenings and weekends as an administrator in the Safe Centre reception. I have progressed to become a Learning and Development Officer.

How long have you worked at Kibble?

I have worked at Kibble for 5 years.

What made you want to work for Kibble?

People talk about the Kibble family and becoming close friends with colleagues, but I have an actual Kibble family. My dad along with my uncles and cousins work across different areas within Kibble, hearing how much they enjoyed their jobs motivated me to look into working at Kibble.

Can you give us an overview of your role at Kibble and what area you work in? Please explain about the service?

I work within the Learning and Development team which oversees staff development. The purpose of our team is to support colleagues, enabling them to perform their duties so that they can provide the best care, support and understanding of young people.

As well as supporting the wider team, I am responsible for the managing the staff induction process and welcoming new staff members.

What is the best thing about working in Kibble/tell us one thing you love about your job?

I thoroughly enjoy working at Kibble, I do not wake up dreading to go to work and instead I look forward to the working day ahead. The warmth of the staff is a highlight at Kibble, everyone is kind and friendly.

Can you share a defining moment or story about your time at Kibble?

Kibble recognised my strengths and high quality of work and I was given the opportunity for a promotion to work within the Learning and Development team. This was a huge defining moment in my career and showed that Kibble were invested in expanding my experience at Kibble.

Prior to joining Kibble I had no formal qualification, but opportunities opened up as they saw my enthusiasm and the value I bring to the organisation.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of joining Kibble?

Just do it, you won’t regret it!
