Skillzone

SkillZone@KibbleWorksAges 15 and upwards

Kibble Education and Care Centre has further developed services through the opening of SkillZone @ KibbleWorks.

SkillZone @ KibbleWorks provides a rich blend of education, training, work experience and life skills individualised for young people in their final phase of school education. The curriculum is based around ASDAN’s Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) at Intermediate 1 and 2 levels (SQCF 4 and 5) and Skills for Work at Intermediate 1 and 2 (SQCF 4 and 5).

Confident Individuals

  • Employabillity
  • Outdoor Education
  • Independant Living Skills

Successful Learners

  • CoPE Level 1 & 2
  • Skills for Work int 1 & 2
  • SCQF Accreditation

Responsible Citizens

  • Holistic Approach
  • Charity Work
  • Breakfast Club

Effective Contributors

  • Transferable Work Skills
  • Real Work Experience
  • Community / Charity Work

ASDAN’s CoPE qualification has proved highly successful in the national context by engaging youngsters who have become disaffected with an academic curriculum. SkillZone will use the CoPE structure to build a curriculum that includes Communication, Sport and Leisure, Vocational Preparation, Health and Fitness, Work Related Learning and Enterprise, Independent Living, Community/Charity Work, the Environment, and Science and Technology.

The Skills for Work programme also incorporates Employability at Intermediate 1 level. Young people benefit from the experience of sampling a variety of vocational activities ranging from roofing to bricklaying while enjoying the huge boost in confidence and self esteem that comes with working hard and taking pride in one’s achievements.

As always, we aim to provide the highest standard of service and will work in partnership with all stakeholders towards ensuring the best possible outcome for each young person. All referrals will be carefully considered and placements reviewed regularly.

For further information, referral details or an informal discussion about SkillZone @ KibbleWorks, please contact Neil Govan neil.govan@kibble.org by email or phone on 0141 889 0044.
