Education

At Kibble we offer a full range of courses and qualifications suitable for every age and ability. All subjects are moving towards the new Curriculum for Excellence. Curriculum for Excellence aspires to enable all subject teachers to help students to become: successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors, responsible citizens. Subjects have been regrouped under the following headings:

  • Expressive Arts
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Literacy and English
  • Modern Languages
  • Sciences
  • Religious and Moral Education
  • Numeracy and Mathematics
  • Social Sciences
  • Technologies

In addition, Kibble’s Intensive Support Department provides a differentiated curriculum for learners with moderate or specific learning difficulties, or for young people for whom a special/primary facility can best meet their emotional needs.

Personalised education plans are also put in place to:

  • Develop awareness of strengths and learning styles
  • Provide support in classes at times of crisis
  • Develop and share strategies with teaching staff
  • Encourage achievement and attainment

Other activities include:

  • High impact educational and cultural trips abroad (e.g. Belfast, Auschwitz)
  • Music/drama/choir performances
  • Outdoor education
