£13056 - £13461 per annum (Pt 6 to Pt 7) dependent on experience and qualifications. 37 per week, 5 over 7 days on a shift basis

Closing Date: Friday 12th March 2010

Job Purpose:

To undertake, individually or as part of a team, the preparation, simple cooking and serving of food, normally under the general direction of an Assistant or Senior Cook. On occasion, the postholder will be required to undertake some domestic cleaning duties within the units.

Main Duties:

Preparation of food and beverages, for example, preparation of vegetables and snacks
Simple cooking, for example, reconstitution of prepared food
Transporting and serving of meals
General kitchen and dining area duties, for example washing up, setting up and clearing away crockery and kitchen equipment
Cleaning of the kitchen, its surrounds and equipment
Maintaining high standards of hygiene and health and safety within the kitchen
Other duties as required by the Domestic Services Manager

Qualifications and Experience:

Possession of a Food Handling Certificate is desirable
Previous experience working in a large kitchen is desirable
Clean and tidy appearance
Ability to undertake some early evening and weekend work
