As we grow and continue to develop the range of services we offer, we are always seeking to attract enthusiastic and committed staff to work in our organisation. We employ a diverse group of staff including:

While qualifications and experience are an advantage, it is more important that applicants have the confidence - and willingness - to develop the skills and experience to make a contribution to the daily lives of the young people referred to Kibble.

Kibble is a completely independent organisation and can therefore be more flexible regarding work patterns and development opportunities than many large organisations. We are small enough that most people know and interact with each other, but large enough that we can offer defined career paths to individuals interested in pursuing advancement.

Prospective employees are required to demonstrate the commitment to our mission, vision and values. Additionally, as Kibble aims to be a learning organisation, all staff is involved in Continuing Professional Development through a variety of in-service development and formal qualifications. This is seen as a joint responsibility between Kibble and the employee.

In return, we can offer a pleasant working environment, 20 - 28 days annual leave (dependent on length of service), plus 12 additional Public Holidays per year. We are also members of the Strathclyde Pension Fund. This is a contributory scheme to which the current employees contribution is 6% of their salary.

Due to the backgrounds and histories of many of the young people placed at Kibble, all posts are considered exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders' Act 1974 (as amended). This means that all previous convictions must be disclosed; irrespective of the time elapsed since they were committed. All successful applicants will be vetted by Disclosure Scotland, a national partnership between the Scottish Executive and the Scottish Criminal Records Office.

Foster Panel Chair and Members

The Fostering Panel fulfils an important role in approving prospective carers and reviewing existing carers, whilst monitoring standards of practice within the Intensive Fostering Service.

We are seeking individuals to join our Fostering Panel on a voluntary basis, who have a background in children's services. Particular knowledge and expertise in supporting 'looked after' adolescents would be especially beneficial.

We ask that all Foster Panel members are willing to commit to four afternoons and one day's training per year. A Foster Panel Chair is also being sought from existing and new members.
