We are delighted to announce that two of our Trustees, Mr James Jack MBE and Mr James Wardrop OBE have received honours in the New Year’s Honours list.
James Jack, a trustee and chairman of Kibble’s Board of Directors said of his MBE: “This award is recognition for Kibble and the standing it has today. Really, my contribution as chairman is quite small when you consider the great work the staff at Kibble do. It’s these people who deserve to be honoured. Being awarded an MBE came as a great surprise and I certainly never expected anything like this. You don’t do charitable work with the expectation of getting an honour – you do it out of what you think is right.”
Kibble’s chief executive Graham Bell said: “James Jack has been involved with Kibble since 1995 when he became chairman of our board. He has overseen Kibble’s growth into an organisation whose principles and methods of looking after young people are recognised nationally and internationally. He took on the role of chairman at a time when the future of places like Kibble was very uncertain. James showed great vision, dedication, attention to detail and an insight into how Kibble’s services could be improved and developed in modern society.
“There are no half-measures with James and he always looks to best practice to ensure the highest standards at Kibble.”
Another of Kibble’s trustees, James Wardrop - Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Renfrewshire - receives an OBE.
Graham Bell added: “It’s a great honour for Kibble to have two of its trustees receive honours like this. One of the many roles James Wardrop takes in the local community is as a trustee of Kibble and he plays a valuable role in overseeing the running of the organisation.”
