KIND-HEARTED pupils and staff at Kibble education and care centre are donating hundreds of pounds for charity in a series of fund-raising events.
The money-making schemes ranged from organising a coffee morning to making fridge magnets and even dressing up as comedy act Jimmy Krankie.
Kibble teacher Anne Robertson and eight pupils raised £60 for the Macmillan Cancer Relief charity from a coffee morning organised as part of the boys' assessment for their Social and Vocational standard grade.
The BBC's Children in Need fund-raising event was given £120 after instructor Lorraine Curran and pupils made Pudsey Bear fridge magnets and keyrings and sold them to staff at Kibble.
Another £70 went to Children in Need when the cook at Kibble's South Unit, Angela Robin dressed up as Jimmy Krankie complete with freckles and school uniform and collected cash round the campus.
And during a Family Fun Day at Kibble £460 was raised for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.
Kibble's chief executive Graham Bell said: “We may be a registered charity ourselves, but that doesn't stop us raising money for other charities and good causes. All the staff and pupils involved in the fund-raising did a great job.”
