Properly planned placements optimise the chance of long term success. Please contact the centre at an early stage to minimise emergency referral placements. Where emergency placements are required we will endeavour to respond promptly. Increasingly local authorities are requesting individually designed care and education packages. We are happy to negotiate such arrangements.
Initial contact by Social Worker to discuss suitability of placement and where that fits into the overall care plan.
Referral papers formally submitted to Kibble.
Kibble will check with Social Worker that their fund Managers are happy to proceed with placement request.
Kibble will send Funding Authorisation Form to identified Fund Manager.
Once a placement has been identified, the young person and significant others would be invited for a pre-placement visit to identify how
Kibble can best meet the young person's needs.
If all are in agreement with the plan for admission, a provisional admission date should be arranged and Social Worker to request a
children's hearing. Space permitting, overnight or supplementary visits can be arranged prior to admission.
Day placements normally come through psychological services within the education departments of local authorities. Educational
psychologists who would wish to consider a placement at Kibble should discuss this with the screening group which operates within their
authority.
Referral papers can then be formally submitted to Kibble.
Kibble will check with the relevant educational authority and their fund manager to confirm that they are happy to proceed with the
placement request.
Kibble will then send a funding authorisation form to the fund manager.
Once a placement has been identified, the young person and significant others would be invited for a pre-placement visit to identify
how Kibble can best meet the young person's needs.
It would hopefully be possible to agree a starting date when the pre-placement visit occurs.
We strive to provide an invitational induction for pupils into Kibble.
