
Arran Day Services support young people that have been referred due to mainstream educational placement breakdown. Arran Day Services provide young people with support to enable then to successfully complete their education. The service also liaises with relevant agencies, such as further education, training and work opportunities, along with working closely with Kibble's social education team, with regards to supporting the young person develop into young adulthood. The Service works in conjunction with Intensive Fostering Service (IFS) and provides support and guidance for both foster carers and young people. It is the intention of the management team within Arran/IFS to integrate the service further and work towards placing more young people in foster care, through internal and external referral, using Arran day unit as the supporting unit for these young people as they attend Kibble for education.
Arran Day Services have a number of facilities the young people have access to. These facilities include a family room where the young people can watch a DVD at break times. The family room is also where a number of meetings are held. The young people have access to a computer room, where they can play the playstation and use the Internet to help them with their schoolwork. There is also a small quiet room/library where the young people are able to take time out and read books provided. The poolroom is a further, well-used resource. There is also a large dining hall, which provides snacks and lunches for the young people and staff. The young people have access to the school gym at lunchtimes where they enjoy playing football with their peers.
