What services does this enterprise have to offer and who are the customers?

WoodWorks will carry out all aspects of joinery work, and will cater to any customer requirement.

WoodWorks, A Kibble enterprise

This will include working both on site and within the workshop. The customer base will be mainly members of the public in and around Renfrewshire but business customers will be welcome too. Each job will be individually assessed and priced.

What activities and tasks will the young person perform?

The young person will work closely with the fully qualified joiner to gain a general knowledge of joinery. The work will vary depending on the jobs undertaken and will range from assisting in the manufacture and installation of joinery work, to learning how to safely use hand tools.

What transferable skills will the young person take from this role?

The young person will develop general joinery skills and a valuable insight into the variables required to become a competent joiner. They will also gain skills in sourcing material, using hand tools, pricing a range of jobs, timekeeping and customer service skills.

I have been a joiner for 29 years and have been self employed for the past 25 years.
